Alex is a 2005 Grad from Mission Viejo High School in California who we've seen pitch at a variety of events during the last year. He has a solid frame and broad, strong shoulders. Alex has been 87-89 mph virtually every time we've seen him throw and that's what he was at the West Coast Top Prospect as well. His fastball shows some nice run and sink down in the zone. His split finger was a quality second pitch with good tumbling action and some nice velocity up to 79 mph. He has a nice, simple balanced delivery with a consistent release point and a good feel for the strike zone. Alex is an outstanding student and looked at some of the top academic schools in the country before committing to UC Irvine. He should be an outstanding college pitcher with the maturity to make an impact as a freshman and develop into a potential draft pick later on.

Alexander Meschi is a strong solid 6'0/200 RHP from Mission Viejo, CA. He has a very strong lower half and knows how to use it. He threw lots of live 89s in Tropicana with a solid delivery and outstanding command. His breaking ball is close to MLB caliber and he really knows how to use it. This kid can really pitch. Alex is a top "Ivy League" type student and if he ends up at one, he'll be a dominating presense on the mound. In fact, he should dominate wherever he ends up. We have seen him 3 or 4 times and he is very consistent.

Alexander Meschi is a 2005 RHP from Mission Viejo, CA. Meschi was only able to throw an inning at the Academic Showcase due to weather problems, but he was coming from Sunshine West and going directly to the Perfect Game National Showcase, so we have a good grasp on his tools. Meschi has a strong, well proportioned 6'0", 200 lb. body and plenty of present strength. He has a sound, directional delivery and a compact, smooth arm action. He threw 87-89 mph during his inning of work and dropped in some 74-76 mph curveballs that had sharp biting action. Meschi’s delivery and arm action are the type that you can project to throw plenty of strikes in the future. Meschi’s current stuff is very solid for highest level DI and he’s going to be a workhorse. Alex is an outstanding student.

WP - Alexander Meschi is a 2005 RHP from Mission Viejo, CA. We've seen Meschi a few times over the last year and he has shown marked improvements each time. This weekend was no different. He showed more velocity (87-89 mph) from a smooth working arm action and a better curveball with much tighter rotation and a harder downward action. His arm works clean and he demonstrated the ability to control both pitches abusing the inside and outside corners of the plate, especially with the fastball. He is a top pitching prospect for Academic Colleges who have been following him and we think he can pitch at any of them. He was selected to the PG National showcase and is an extremely good student.

Alexander is a '05 RHP/OF/C from Mission Viejo, California with a solid 5-11/220 lb. frame and strong, mature build. He is big boned with strong calves and developed shoulders. At the plate he hits from a wide base and a high hands setup with a power type approach. He generates quality, hard contact to balls on the inner half of the plate, but will go the other way when needed. Defensively, he shows good hand and eye coordination as a corner/catcher type player. He has mobilty to cover ground and sure hands. He shows to be a coachable player with a desire to play. From the mound he throws nothing but strikes from a 3/4 arm slot with good command of his 85-86mph fastball and 71-73mph compact curve. He locates his curve low in the zone well. He looks to use a splitter as his out pitch that he uses sparingly, but effectively. We see his future on the mound. A nice player to follow this year as he developes further. Alexander is an outstanding "Ivy League" type student. He will pitch at a very high level.

Meschi does not have the prototypical prospect’s body at 5-10, 220 lbs but he has a number of prospect tools. He’s surprisingly loose for his size in both his upper and lower half. His pop times behind the plate were down to 1.98 with above average accuracy and Meschi squatted and moved side to side as well as any catcher at the showcase. At the plate, Meschi showed good power potential with a strong swing with loft. On the mound, Meschi threw 80-85 mph with a very nice slider in the mid-70’s and he threw strikes with both pitches. Overall, he is a very consistent and very skilled player both as a pitcher and a position player. Either way he is very interesting. Alex is a very good student as well.
