Oliver Powers is a 2012 1B/RHP with a 6-4 200 lb. frame from Newtown, CT who attends Salisbury School. Strong, athletic build with projection. Throws from low 3/4 slot. All from the stretch. Effort in delivery but arm comes thru well. Lots of funk in delivery, tough for hitters to pick up ball. Throws strikes with two pitches. Fastball sat mid 80s, topped at 86. Good velocity on curveball with 11/5 break. Lost velo a bit by second inning of work. Easy swing at the plate with a handsy swing with opposite field pop and good potential at the plate. Good student.
