Harlyn Griffiths is a 2008 RHP/1B/OF with a 6'0'', 175 lb. frame from Scottsdale AZ, who attends Brophy College Prep. Griffiths has a nice build with an athletic body. Griffiths pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a good arm action. He has good arm speed and pitches on a good downward plane. Griffiths has nice mechanics and stays smooth through his delivery. At the plate, Griffiths has a balanced approach and stays balanced through his swing. He has quick hands and a nice short stroke. Defensively, Griffiths moves well defensively and has good hands. He has good arm strength with carry on this throws. Griffiths is an athletic player and is a two way prospect. Good student.

Harlyn Griffiths is a 2007 RHP/1B/OF from Brophy College Prep HS, residing in Scottsdale, AZ, with a 6'0" 175 lb. frame. Griffiths was named to the top prospect team at the California Underclass Showcase and was written up in the Top Prospect list. Has an average athletic build with rangy proportions and some life in his movements. On the mound he pitched from a 3/4 slot with a loose arm. There was some effort in his delivery but he displayed balanced mechanics, keeping his head over his lead knee and finishing his pitches well. Griffiths threw a lot of strikes and showed that he can pitch with the FB. His FB velocity has a chance to climb to upper 80s this summer. At this event it was up to 84 mph. At the plate he showed off a handsy swing and was lively in the box. He has good bat speed and make good barrel contact on a consistent basis. Griffiths has decent timing as a hitter and had balance in his swing. He stayed inside the ball well and drove line drives in the middle of the field. For now he is a line drive hitter with some doubles power. Showed some rythym as a hitter and his body uncoils well. He was aggressive to the ball and basically used the whole field. On defense he stayed low on ground balls and showed himself to be an aggressive defender. Griffiths has decent hands and may look a bit unorthodox with lots of elbows and knees, but he is an average defender. Consider him a strong two-way prospect at the D1 level. Both his bat and arm are intriguing.

Harlyn Griffiths is a 2008 outfielder/right handed pitcher from Phoenix Arizona with a wiry build that shows strength at 5 ft. 11 160 pounds. He hits from a solid base and and a slightly open stance. He has quick hands and good bat control, with a line drive swing plane. He has a short, compact stroke and generates good bat speed. Griffiths uses the whole field and centers on the ball well. Defensively, he showed good arm strength for a freshman at 79 mph with accurate throws. He has good defensive instincts and gets a good read off the bat. On the mound, Griffiths pitches from a 3/4 slot with a quick tempo and an upright finish. His fastball topped out at 78 mph with decent run. His 63 mph curveball was his best pitch and showed good biting action and very good depth. He is a very interesting young player with lots of room to grow and get stronger, and he could be a top level prospect in the future.

Harlyn Griffiths is a 2008 OF/1B/RHP from Phoenix, Arizona, with a wiry strong 5'11", 160 lb. frame. Griffiths showed great arm strength for his age, especially from the outfield. From the outfield he threw 81 mph with good arm speed and solid carry, as well as fluid defensive actions. Offensively, he is a right handed hitter with good balance and a line drive swing plane. Griffiths stays inside the ball well with the ability to hit to all fields. He gets extension in his swing with a high finish, and made solid contact in batting practice. Griffiths also pitched two innings at the event and showed an upper 70s fastball, that topped out at 79 mph, with running action. He also mixed in an overhand curveball with good spin and depth at 64 mph, and a nice change up at 67 mph. Griffiths is a developing young player with a great attitude and gave a great effort at the event. He has the potential to be a very good player as he matures and continues to gain strength. Griffiths is a must follow.
