Brandon Showmar is a 2008 RHP with a 6'2'', 160 lb. frame from Little Rock, AR who attends Little Rock Central. Brandon has a medium athletic build, with long arms. He has some present strength in his lower half, and room to grow in his upper body. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with loose arm action and solid arm speed. He throws with high effort and works fast throwing on a downward plane. He has some extra movement in his delivery that he could lose, and he has a tendency to rush himself at times. He is a competitor who goes after hitters, and looks to get ahead early in the count. He can throw his fastball, curveball, and slider for strikes. He likes to work both sides of the plate and does a good job setting up hitters for his offspeed pitches. He has a good mound presence and is confident in his ability to get hitters out.
