William Young is a 2009 LHP/1B with a 6'2'', 172 lb. frame from Palm City, FL who attends South Fork HS. He has a tall, athletic build with some developing strength and good future projection. Young has polished pitching mechanics with good balance, the ability to repeat his delivery and a long and clean arm action. Young's fastball topped out at 80 mph. His best pitches were his change up and curveball. Young's change up was very good, with good arm speed and some late action. His curveball was tight with a good 2 plane break to it. Young's pick off move was very advanced, too. He does everything well on the mound except throw with velocity and he has size, mechanics and age on his side with that. Young also showed his athletic ability with the bat. He has an easy, smooth swing and made hard line drive contact with quick hands to the ball. He could be a hitting prospect when he fills out and gets stronger, too. Follow him closely both ways. Young is also a very good student.
