2004 South Top Prospect Showcase
Jake Pulliam is a 6'3/205 2005 OF/P from Midland, TX. We’ve seen Pulliam play frequently in the past, and this was not his best performance. He didn’t take a his usual good batting practice. Pulliam is a well above average athlete with an excellent speed/power combination. He’s 6'3", 205 lbs., but is a Major League above average runner at least, who we had as low as 4.12 to first base from the right side on one ground ball. Pulliam will show power and strength with the bat, but seemed to be hitting with much lower hand position than normal, which left the bat head consistently below the plane of the ball. Pulliam also threw a couple innings on the mound, topping out at 81 mph with a 66 mph curveball. We expect to see him play at a high level college. Jake is an excellent student.
