Closed stance, complicated swing, very good bat speed when it comes together, shows pull power/lift when balanced, very good hitting tools to develop with mechanical adjustments. Athletic ability to catch, receives well, raw arm strength, very long release hinders throwing ability and future at position, athleticism to play corner OF spots, arm strength shows in OF, future position will depend on ability to make throwing/release adjustments. Plus athlete, skill development will determine future. Plays hard, knows the game. Could create a lot of draft interest. Good student, verbal to Arizona State.

Jeff Jackson is a 2010 C/1B/OF with a 6'2'', 190 lb. frame from Lake Zurich, IL who attends Lake Zurich high school. Jackson is another player we have seen many times. He has a good athletic body and looks the part. He shows excellent arm strength and agility behind the plate. Jackson didn't look comfortable during the first few swings of BP, then he hit a long one out of Dedeaix Stadium and all was well. He has extreme power potential and can square up top level pitching. Jackson has Big Time potential and he is still a young 2010. The wood doesn't bother him a bit and things could get interesting over the next year.

Jeff Jackson is a 2010 C/3B/1B with a 6'1'', 170 lb. frame from Lake Zurich, IL, who attends Lake Zurich HS. Named to the Top Prospect Team at the event. He just continues to get better and better. He is a lean and athletic player with a very projectable body. Defensively he is a very good receiver behind the plate showing soft hands and the ability to easily handle pitchers. Jackson has a quick and loose arm, and arm strength that already produces throws at 76 mph. He has advanced defensive skills. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a wide base. There is no wasted movement in his swing, and he shows good bat speed through the zone. He is a line drive hitter who makes consistently solid contact. Jackson gets leverage at the point of contact that gives him big time power potential as he continues to grow into his body. Also has the ability to hit to all fields which should allow him to hit for average as well. He is a must follow, and he is a good student as well.

Jeff Jackson is a 2010 C/3B/1B with a 6'1'', 170 lb. frame from Lake Zurich IL, who attends Lake Zurich HS. He has a very projectable build for an 8th grader with good present strength. He has very smooth defensive skills not only for his age but for any young catcher handling good pitchers. He has a quick, easy release and very good arm strength that could project into a cannon when he gets older. His best pop time was 1.98 and Jackson made accurate throws. Offensively, Jackson takes an aggressive swing while maintaining good balance and has nice bat speed. He uses his hands to hit and has good leverage at contact. Jackson is going to have some power as he gets older and the ball comes off his bat pretty well right now. His approach with the bat works well with wood. Jackson is a top level follow who will be fun to watch develop over the next four years.

Jeff Jackson is a 2010 C/1B/3B from Lake Zurich, IL, with a 5'10'', 150 lb. frame. He is only in 8th grade and was one of the couple of youngest players at the showcase. Jackson has a lean, projectable body with wiry present strength. He threw 69 mph during catching drills with a best pop time of 2.05, outstanding for a catcher who just turned 14 years old. Jackson's defensive fundamentals are very, very sound. He has very good footwork behind the plate and is very balanced and controlled in all his actions. He did a very nice job blocking the ball in games and was not out of place at all with older players. Jackson brings the same sort of balance and advanced fundamentals to the offensive side of the game. He has very good rhythm to the ball and uses is hands to hit. Jackson has a line drive swing plane and present bat speed that's just going to keep getting better and better. He centered the ball on almost every swing and showed some gap to gap power. He's an excellent hitter for his age. Projecting 14 year olds is not always the best thing to do but it's hard to imagine Jackson not developing into a premium prospect if he has the work ethic and desire to do so. His present tools and fundamentals are excellent and he's very physically projectable as well. Keep a close eye on him!

Jeff Jackson is a 2010 catcher/infielder from Lake Zurich, Illinois, with a lean 5'8", 130 lb. frame. Jackson has soft hands and does a good job receiving. He has good footwork behind the plate and looks comfortable. He gets under the ball on his throws to second base, and needs to stay behind the ball better. He hits from a wide stance with solid bat speed. Jackson has a line drive swing plane, and centered the ball well in games. He has limited present power, but that could easily change as he continues to mature. He had some solid base hits in the showcase games to the pull side. Jackson was one of the youngest players at the event, but he has the tools to be a good catching prospect. He just needs time to grow stronger, and we think he will put in the time.
