Short compact arm action, very lively FB, tight 11/5 CB, loose arm, good mechanics, fast arm, ball jumps out of hand, 3/4 arm angle, online delivery with solid command. He was named to the top prospect team at this event.

Jeff Kelly is a 2009 RHP/OF that attends Owen Roberts HS and resides in Pottstown, PA with a 6'0", 150 lb. frame. Jeff has a lean build with room to fill out and showed solid potential on the mound. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a short compact arm action. Jeff challenges hitters on the mound but really needs to work on mixing up his speeds more. He showed good athletic ability in the 60-yard dash (7.38), so you know there is potential. Mechanically Jeff has a good lower half in his delivery but tends to jerk alot of his body. Once he smooth out his mechanics and picks up a little bit of velocity Jeff looks like a kid that could be a solid college prospect.

Jeff Kelly is a 2009 right handed pitcher/shortstop from Pottstown, Pennsylvania, with a lean build at 5'11", 145 pounds. He has large hands and feet with wide shoulders and a high waist. He pitches from a high 3/4 slot with sound mechanics and an even tempo delivery. He has a fast arm with normal effort, and he stays balanced throughout his delivery. His fastball topped out at 82 mph with slight arm side fade. His 11-5 curveball showed decent depth and sharpness at 68 mph. His change-up was at 77 mph with good sink and run. He hits from a balanced stance with a short stride and a small hand load. He has a line drive swing plane with a two handed flat finish. He is a contact type hitter that uses the whole field, and showed good gap to gap power potential. He ran a 5.00 home to first. He has room to grow as he matures, and he has a chance to be a high level prospect with potential on the hill. Jeff is also a very good student.

Jeff is a very young "09" RHP/SS from PA. At 5'9/125 we don't know how big he'll end up being. He is very strong for his size and age. He's a good athlete with lots of baseball skills. He can already handle the wood and has a chance to become a special hitter. He shows good defensive ability as well. On the mound he threw low 70s with arm side life. He also showed a very promising breaking ball and an even better changeup. Jeff could end up throwing very hard as he grows older. Keep a close eye out for him. He's too young for an accurate grade or we'd give him at least an 8.
