Jeff May is a 2008 C with a 6'2'', 200 lb. frame from Stem, NC who attends South Granville HS. He has a big, physical frame with strong hips and legs. May has a cannon arm and threw 80 mph during drills with a best pop time of 1.91. He has good catching and throwing fundamentals but as a catcher the one area of improvement involves getting a bit quicker and maintaining it with his big strong lower half. May threw consistently 2.0 in games and made accurate throws. At the plate, May hits from a somewhat open stance and once in awhile he starts his swing a little early. He has a somewhat upper cut swing plane with plenty of serious bat speed and lift. He can drive a pitch in his hitting zone hard and far. May's approach allows him to kill pitcher's mistakes. The power tools are big for May to be a good one. He is a serious player who will more than likely make any adjustments that will be needed at the next level. May is a good student.

Jeff May is a 2008 C/1B with a 6'1'', 220 lb. frame from Stem NC, who attends South Granville. Named to Top Prospect Team. May has a thick build with a strong body. Defensively, May has good arm strength with carry on his throws down to second base. He makes accurate throws and has nice transfers which helps him have quick pop times(1.93). May is a good receiver and has a good idea how to move behind the dish. At the plate, May starts with an open stance and keeps his weight back well. He has good raw strength in his swing and raw power. May generates serious bat speed and takes a big hack. He has some lift in his swing and has leverage at contact. May uses a power hitter's approach and has more power potential in there. He plays the game hard and has a high baseball IQ on the diamond. May is an outstanding student.

Jeff May is a 2008 6-1/205 catcher from Stem , NC with clean consistent pop times in the 2.00 range. Jeff has good college arm strength and he will get better and should really be very good down the road. He does an outstanding job of receiving. Jeff has serious power potential and should hit bombs as he continues to grow. A right handed hitter that is very good on balls down in the zone. He has college level bat speed and takes a big rip. Shows big power now, but in a small part of the zone. He has strong hands and attacks the ball. Rips the balls on the inside half of plate. He is turning the corner with developing strength and should really be interesting to watch in the future. May was named to the Top Prospect game. The college interest will be high on this athletic player. The best part is, Jeff is only a sophomore in high school. He's a very good student with a 3.9 gpa.
