2004 Northwest Top Prospect Showcase
Justin Buban is a 2005 right handed pitcher/first baseman from Rocklin, California. He has a large frame and an athletically strong build with square shoulders. Buban showed good arm strength at 1B with soft hands, and he moves his feet well. He has very good raw power with wood, and is aggressive when he gets a pitch on the inner half. On the mound, he uses a short arm action in back with some good arm speed, and an even tempo delivery. He repeats his release point very well. Buban kept his mid 80s fastball down, and shows a lot promise as a pitcher. He showed a good sharp breaking ball and excellent command of the strike zone. He should be able to compete well at the next level. He is also a very strong student.
