Brandon Platts is a 2011 RHP/ with a 6-4 210 lb. frame from Mason City, IA who attends Mason City. Tall well proportioned build. Looked a bit rusty coming back from a minor injury but is now healthy and possesses impressive stuff. Curveball featured good spin and 11-7 downer break, nice shape. Mixed in a good mid 80s changeup with good arm speed and nice sink. Slow paced delivery with good body control, gets downhill. Has shown good feel for all three pitches in the past, command wasn't as good as we've seen in the past but velocity was good and changeup was best we've seen it. Very solid prospect, good student, committed to Missouri.

Solid repeatable delivery, good direction, high 3/4's release point, arm is smooth and loose. Upper 80's fastball, touched 91 mph, mostly straight. Flashes hard curveball spin, nice 11/5 depth, rare slider has short cutter type break, nice arm speed on fading change up, has an idea and mixes pitches well. Needs to develop some fastball movement/deception. Has steadily improved. Good student, signed with Missouri.

Simple hand drop delivery, clow paced, good smooth arm circle, high 3/4's release, tends to come over FB on release and not stay behind it as well as possible. Steady 86-88 mph FB from windup, CB bit soft on velo but big downer shape and commanded very well, Change up flashed good sink with nice arm speed. Threw strikes with all offerings, good idea how to pitch with 3 pitches. Solid prospect, good student.

Brandon Platts is a 2011 RHP/1B with a 6'4'', 210 lb. frame from Mason City, IA who attends Mason City HS. Very solid athletic build, nice present strength. Hand drop delivery, well balanced and consistent, compact arm circle, tight 3/4's release point, hides ball well. Mid 80's fastball, touched 88 mph, very heavy life at the plate, consistent hard run/sink, will induce tons of ground balls. SL best off speed pitch, consistent short off the barrell break. CB and Change still developing, tends to get under CB with soft spin. Future durable sinker/slider type at the college level. Good student. Could be a big surprise this spring with some mechanical tweaking.
