Mike Papi is a 2011 OF/3B/RHP with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Tunkhannock, PA who attends Tunkhannock Area HS. Strong well proportioned athletic build. Very good arm strength both IF and OF, shows better looseness and actions in RF than 3B, 6.85 runner. Left handed hitter, calm simple approach hitting, keeps hands tight and short to ball, some lift in swing, squares up good pitching, shows pull power, nice overall hitting ability. Didn't pitch but has been consistent upper 80's in the past. Very good student, verbal commitment to Virginia.

He has a plus arm that plays well in the outfield and infield, plus carry on throws, good speed, plays well in outfield. His has actual power at the plate, ball jumps off his bat, balanced swing, hits with leverage. Also pitched, quick arm, high 3/4 slot, stays tall, doesn't use legs, big break on 11/5, good change up. Bat and tools could carry him, follow him closely. He is a very good student.
