Luke Murton- 1B- Eagles Landing HS, McDonough, GA- 6'4"/223. Murton was the best power hitter at the event. He showed great raw power with several deep shots in batting practice, and he followed it up with the only HR during the game while going 3-5 with a double. Murton has enough power to hit the ball out even when he isn’t balanced at the plate, but when he does have leverage they are long, long home runs. Defensively he threw 83 mph from 1B, and showed good actions and footwork. To add to his plus power and defensive skills, he ran a 7.17 which is great for his size. He has the ability to be a top power hitter at the MLB level. The only question is where he will be drafted. He has signed with Georgia Tech. He needs to move way up in the national rankings.

Luke Murton is a 2005 1B/3B/OF from McDonough, Georgia, with a strong and mature frame at 6'4", 222 lbs. He is an advanced right handed hitter with present raw power and very good bat speed. The ball jumps off his bat, and he can hit it out of any part of the park. He loves to rip the ball on the inner half, but also shows the ability to adjust and go the other way. Murton has good balance and leverage while taking an aggressive swing. Defensively he has good arm strength (83IF) with very good accuracy, and solid actions around the first base bag. Murton is a strong player with very good present hitting tools for the next level. Luke is a good student who has signed with Georgia Tech.
