Bergquist is a very big and strong 2-way player from Wisconsin. At 6 foot 5 and 240 pounds he is a presence on the mound and at the plate. As a pitcher he showed a compact delivery for his size and a good arm action with good use of his body. From a 3/4 arm slot he gets out front well and showed 83-86 mph velocity with his fastball. He did not command a complete strike-zone but showed the ability to throw strikes when he got behind early. He did show a good curveball at 72 mph and a good change-up at 70 mph but we think his best suited position for the next level will put him as a corner infielder. His arm strength will play from third base and his bat showed power. He took a big hack, and at times flashed Major League power. His swing worked for him and he showed that he can put the bat on the ball. He saw good pitching and stayed in on some tough breaking balls. His bat-speed was measured in the upper 70's and he did not have a problem turning on a fastball. We would suspect that he hits his share of home runs in Wisconsin and needs to be watched by College scouts for next years recruiting class.
