Matt Hall is a lean athletic 6'2/175 SS from Scottsdale, AZ. We’ve seen middle infielders from Arizona improve dramatically at this age over the past few years and Hall has the tools and athleticism to become an early draft pick. He made the defensive play of the showcase, with a diving stop on the line at third base and rocket throw to first. He runs well and has a MLB arm from SS. He shows very nice actions and soft hands with great instincts. He might have been the top defensive player at the Nationals. He can hit and hit the top pitching. He also showed some serious power potential. There's not much that he can't do on a baseball field. Highest level college guy and definite pro future either next year or later. Matthew is a very good student.

WP - Matthew Hall is a 2005 SS from Horizon HS in Scottsdale, AZ. At 6'2, 175, Hall is a strong, lean SS who showed good range, a solid glove, and a quick 1st step as he fielded nicely through ground balls. He handles the bat and shows some exciting traits that we saw over a year ago from 1st round draft pick, and former team-mate, Brandon Wood. We liked the way he waited for strikes and jumped on them whether it be a fastball or breaking pitch. He kept his hands inside the ball, showed some power potential with wood, and has the defensive tools to compliment the bat. His arm is near average Major League level and his ball carries nice across the diamond. He has good range at shortstop and was an easy selection for the PG National at Tropicana and we expect that he will be well visited by scouts in AZ over the next year.

Matthew Hall -- Hall is a athletic looking 6-2 middle infielder with a good package of tools and tons of projection. He has very smooth, easy actions at shortstop with his feet and lower half and covers lots of ground. Hall’s arm strength is major league average right now and might improve as he gets stronger. He needs to improve his hand and upper body strength a bit, but that will come. He showed some power in games with a double and triple up the gaps. Hall has a slashing aggressive style at the plate and will hit to all fields. He runs very well; in fact, he does everything very well. Matthew is a good student.
