Michael Burke is a 2005 OF/3B/RHP from Dallas, Texas. He has a very athletic and lean 6'1", 175 lb. frame. Burke has great actions in the OF with good range and a very strong arm (89OF). He gets good carry on his throws with solid accuracy. He also shows the ability to play 3B, but might be wasting some of his athleticism there. Burke also has a great approach at the plate with a quiet set-up and a quick bat. He is a line drive hitter with power potential who always makes solid contact. He has great baseball instincts, especially on the bases. Burke also pitched an inning topping out at 84 mph with a quick arm. Burke is a gamer, and is one of the best unsigned players in the 2005 class. He has MLB tools and plays above those tools. Any Division 1 school still needing an OF should be after him. He is a good student.

Michael Burke is a live bodied 2005 outfielder from Dallas, Texas, who was named the top prospect at the showcase. It isn’t often that we see a player hit two home runs during an event, but Burke went yard in both games he played. Pure power probably isn’t the 6'0", 170 lb. Burke’s game, but when you generate very good bat speed with nice balance and leverage, you’re going to hit the ball hard consistently. Both Burke’s home runs were on fastballs down in the strike zone that he dropped the bat head on and drove out on a line. Burke’s other tools play very well, too. He’s a 6.97 runner in the 60 and showed very good low on-line carry on his throws from the outfield, hitting 87 mph on most of his throws. Burke also threw a couple of innings, showing his arm strength with an 84 mph fastball and 71 mph curveball that was occasionally sharp. In fact, we understand that Burke has been a primary pitcher in the past, but his future looks very bright as a position player. Burke is a very solid student, too. He can play at a very high level.
