Blake Burkett is a 2012 RHP with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Cumming, GA who attends West Forsyth HS. Big frame with solid present strength, physically mature. Long extended arm actions, shows ball early, arm works coming through, tends to be hard on his front side with some recoil. Steady mid-80's fastball, topped at 87 mph, have seen 88-89 mph in the past. Nice fastball sink at times and pitches to spots with it. Good feel for slurve type breaking ball, good depth and bite, likes to backdoor it to left handed hitters. Occasional change up. Polished pitcher with an idea. Good student.

Standard on-line delivery, stays balanced, long extended arm action, shows ball, extended 3/4's release. Fastball to 88 mph, consistent early flat running action, flashes hard sink at times. Big sweeping mid 70's curveball with good spin. Pitches to the outside half against both right and left handed hitters. Didn't throw change up and will need to add for the next level. Good student.
