Greving is a left handed hitting junior outfielder from Iowa with a strong football body. He’s a very good overall athlete, with nice speed underway (6.91), obvious strength and nice arm strength from the outfield at 81 mph. Greving hits from a balance stance and has good bat speed with some smoothness to his swing. He has an inside out swing path with most of his weight on his back leg and hits most balls to left and left centerfield. Learning how to turn on certain pitches would be the next big step in his baseball development. Greving also threw a couple of innings from the mound, showing an easy, effortless arm action and a mid-70’s fastball. Greving is an excellent student.

OF Nathan Greving: Greving is a sophomore outfielder from Iowa with a ton of natural athletic ability. His older brother was a star running back before injuries shortened his career and you can see the family athletic genes in Greving. At 5-11 and 190 lbs, Greving is well above average strong for his age, especially in his hips and thighs, but is loose and quick enough to run a 6.88 60. He can hit the ball with authority with wood and does a good job of making contact with a short, simple swing. He’s been bothered by a back injury from football all Spring and we really haven’t seen everything that Greving can do yet. Greving is a young player that the scouts and college coaches are going to take notice of as he gets older and further develops his baseball skills and tools.
