Justin Hofland is a 2011 RHP/3B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Cedar Rapids, IA who attends Prairie HS. Nice athletic build, some present strength, good projection. Multi-piece back turn delivery, full deep arm circle, high 3/4's to overhand release point, stays back well, good downhill plane. Fastball to 84 mph, will cut fastball with very good sharpness at times at 81 mph, also throws hard change up at 78 mph with 4-seam sinker effect. Mid 70's true curveball with good power and bite, quality pitch. Not consistent with delivery/location yet but has numerous live moving pitches and projects. Follow closely. Good student.

Busy side step delivery, 3/4's release point, tends to fall off on release, inconsistent release points. Inconsistent FB velo due to mechanics, topped out at 83 mph, more arm strength in there with simplified delivery, soft slider with small break. Showed potential as a hitter, quick hands with good bat speed, likes to extend his arms, good power potential, drives the ball to RCF well. Good OF actions, shows his arm strength. Good student.
