Pete Jurich is a 2007 C/1B with a 6'2'', 205 lb. frame from Munster, IN, who attends Munster High School. He is a presently strong player with good all-around tools. Jurich has sure hands behind the plate and receives well. He can handle high level pitchers, and looks very comfortable behind the plate. Jurich has good arm strength at 76 mph, and has a quick and smooth transfer as well. He is a confident catcher with good upside. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with a powerful swing. He is an aggressive hitter with good bat speed through the hitting zone, while staying balanced throughout. Jurich gets great leverage in his swing that helps produce raw power and strength that will allow him to drive the ball with authority. Jurich looks like a middle of the order run producer at the next level, and he is an excellent student as well.
