Remington Wilson is a 2007 right hand hitting catcher from Cottonwood HS, residing in Sandy, UT. He has a stocky, compact build on his 5'11" 180 lb. frame. Wilson has enough catch/throw and power in his game to have been ranked #65 among PG National Top 100 position players. At the plate he sets up deep in the box with narrow feet, sort of like a Mickey Tettleton type set-up. He can get his barrel into the zone and through the ball, creating some power to the pull side gap. More than we have seen in the past, Wilson was hunting pitches and looking to drive the ball for power, a high risk, high reward type approach for someone with some pop, which he has. His hands can work inside the ball but that did not appear to be his general focus, indicated by his aggressive move to the ball with his body. Behind the plate he has a very quick transfer of ball from glove to hand and his feet are also quick. Wilson sits deep to receive and stayed that way with runners on base, slowing his pop times, especially in light of how quick he actually can move his body. With a different set-up he can be a consistent sub 2.0 thrower in game situations. He presents a nice target and has field general type leadership skills, though not in a loud, real vocal manner. He has caught one of the top arms in the nation during his high school career (LHP Tanner Robles) so he is capable of handling plus stuff. Wilson ran 4.8 home/1st and 7.88 in the 60. He is a college type catcher and should have a nice career, before moving on to pro ball.

Remington Wilson is a 2007 C from Cottonwood HS in Sandy, UT, with a 6'0'', 180 lb. frame. He has very good present strength and a solid, physical build for his age. Wilson threw 75 mph during catching drills and had a best pop time of 1.89. He has very easy and quick actions behind the plate and does everything with athletic smoothness and balance. He receives the ball cleanly in a low, flexible crouch and gets rid of the ball in a hurry. Wilson also played some third base in games and showed the same type of athletic quickness and balance on defense. He is sure to be one of the premium defensive catchers in the country in the 2007 class. Offensively, Wilson has a good load at the plate and balance through his swing. He generates good bat speed with a long, level swing plane with good extension out front. He showed nice power to right centerfield. He'll learn to shorten up his swing a bit when he faces better pitching with regularity and projects very good power in the future. Wilson also pitched a bit and showed his arm strength. His fastball was 87 mph from a high effort delivery and a high 3/4's arm slot and had good life at the plate. His curveball was a hard 74 mph spike curveball with sharp downer action. Wilson is a national level prospect with a pro profile body and strength. He is also a good student. Top Prospect.

Remington Wilson is a 2007 C/RHP/3B from Cottonwood HS in Sandy, Utah, with a 5'11", 180 lb. frame, and was named to the Top Prospect Team. Wilson has a strong and compact body with quick actions behind the plate. He gets into throwing position quickly and has a quick release with good arm strength on his throws to second base, and recorded several pop times under 2.00. Offensively he hits from a slightly open stance with good bat speed, and has good hands and wrists. Wilson tracks breaking balls well and has a good idea at the plate. He stays balanced in his swing and makes consistently solid contact to all fields. On the mound he has great arm speed with a nice and easy delivery from a 3/4 to high 3/4 arm slot. Wilson works his 88 mph fastball on the corners of the plate, and the ball jumps on hitter. He mixes in a 74 mph 12 to 6 curveball with good depth and throws it for strikes. Wilson is a true two-way prospect that can help any college program. He is a must follow, and is a very good student as well.

Wilson is a 5-11 right handed hitting sophomore catcher from Utah with good present strength in his lower body. The most impressive part of his showcase performance was his defense in games. Wilson works very hard at blocking pitches and is a hustling type of defensive player. He also made a couple of very nice throws that showed off his nice arm strength and throwing accuracy. At the plate, Wilson hits out of a tall stance with a good rock back load and an aggressive, all out swing. Wilson gets a bit long now but he has plenty of natural lift in his cut and good bat speed for his age. If he can shorten up to the ball some he could develop nice power in the future. Wilson also pitched a bit at the Showcase, showing good arm strength with an 83 mph fastball despite raw pitching mechanics. Wilson is a good student.
