Jacob Stenberg is a 2012 RHP/C/IF with a 6'0'', 190 lb. frame from Atkins, IA who attends Benton Community HS. Medium frame, very good strength for age. Simple turn and throw delivery, stays on line well, repeats delivery. Upper 70's fastball, touched 80 mph, keeps ball low in zone and pitches to corners, good idea how to pitch with FB, good consistent sinking action, sometimes hard sink. Slider is short and soft at present, limited feel. Future sinker/slider guy who will get lots of ground balls. Showed solid catching tools, smooth actions, light on his feet, compact throwing stroke. Rotational swing with some bat speed and pop, aggressive to the ball hitting, raw hitting tools but ball jumped pretty well. Potential 2-way prospect. Good student.
