Ricky Anaya is a 6'2" 200 pound 2007 right handed pitcher and infielder from Palm Beach Central High School in West Palm Beach, Florida who was named to the Top Prospect Team. He has a big body with a strong build. Ricky throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a short compact arm action. He finishes very well which makes him throw a very heavy ball. His fastball has late run at 86 mph and he bores this in on right handers. He throws a solid change up at 76 mph that looks like his fastball. His slider is his best pitch. He throws it at 77 mph and it is very tight with good depth. Anaya also showed good arm strength in the field by throwing 82 mph across the infield during the workout. His throws were accurate and he looks suited to play thrid base with good footwork. At the plate, he has good balance and strong hands. He has a line drive swing plane and makes solid contact. He also shows some power in the future especially to his pull side. Ricky is a potential Division 1 pitcher who is also a good student with a 3.1 gpa.
