Rick Castillo is a 2005 outfielder from Sacramento, California, with an average frame and lean build. Castillo should continue to gain more strength as his body continues to mature. He has lively actions, and is a good athlete that shows plus range running down fly balls, and he can even handle himself well enough at 2B if needed. Castillo has very good speed, with good first step quickness on the bases and in the field. He is also balanced on his approach to groundballs, and gets under control on his throws. He has a strong throwing arm. Castillo has a wide base with good contact ability, and will use the whole field well. He is an early line up hitter that should have no trouble generating interest at the next level for a top college program. Rick can play and has very good tools.
