Michael Vielma is a 2011 LHP/1B with a 6-1 215 lb. frame from Castroville, TX. Thick mature build, good present strength. Full clean arm action, 3/4's release, polished repeatable delivery. Steady upper 70's fastball, touched 80 mph, mostly straight with occasional arm side run. CB had good shape and some depth, nice feel for straight change, threw strikes and had an idea how to mix. Hitting approach similar athletically to pitching mechanics/stuff, smooth swing with some bat speed, upright stance with closed front shoulder, bit rotational.
