Bob Brann is a 2006 outfielder with a 6' 180 pound frame from Sarasota, Florida who attends Sarasota High School. He has a very strong and athletic body. Bob is a right handed hitter with very good bat speed. He hits with a wide stance and a coiling load. He has a very short swing and has the ability to hit the ball deep in the zone. He is very athletic in the box with good balance. There is more power to come in his swing. He uses all fields and keeps his hands inside the ball very well. In the field, Brann is very athletic and moves well to the ball. He has a very strong arm with good carry which he showed by throwing 87 mph from the outfield during the workout. Bob is just now starting to turn the corner and come into his potential. He would be a great pickup for most colleges looking for a good defensive outfielder who can really swing the bat. He is also an outstanding student with a 4.4 gpa, 1360 on his SAT, and 29 on his ACT.

Brann is a live bodied junior middle infielder/pitcher from Florida with a nice, well rounded set of tools and a mature game. He has a strong lower half that enables him to be a strong runner and a more slender upper half. Brann looked very good in infield drills, showing soft, sure hands and a very strong arm across the infield. It looks like he has the tools to play anywhere in the infield at the next level, especially if he shortens up his actions a bit. At the plate, Brann hits out of an open stance with a simple balanced swing. He showed better bat speed in games against live pitching than in batting practice and hit some nice line drives. Brann stays behind the ball well and shows a solid understanding of the strike zone. Brann also pitched a couple of innings and showed some promise there. He had excellent delivery mechanics and threw the ball to spots with an 82 mph fastball and a 64 mph curveball that had good spin. Brann isn’t a primary pitcher but he looked like he could get outs pretty efficiently in the right role. One of the most attractive things to college coaches about Brann will be his academics. He’s an outstanding student.

Good "05" player. Does everything pretty good. Arm will play and he threw upper 70s off the mound. Pretty good curveball in the lower 60s. We like him best as an infielder. His feet and hands work well together. Swings the bat with some loft. He's an interesting follow.
