Kurt Mattioda is a 2014 2B/RHP, SS with a 5-9 164 lb. frame from Kingsport, TN who attends Dobyns Bennett. Has a medium frame with good athletic actions. Does a good job of keeping the ball on the infield, has a smooth glove, can throw on the run, and has an accurate arm. Is a switch hitter at the plate who is more polished from the right side. From the right side of the plate he has a slightly open stance with high hands and has a sound approach. Makes line drive contact with bat speed and makes consistent contact. From the left side he has a leg lift trigger, with a back load, and has lift in his swing. Is a submariner on the mound, the ball comes out easy, his fastball has arm side run with sink and gets swings and misses. He throws strikes with his pitches and has good movement to them. Is a very good student.
