Ryan Adams is a 6-0, 180 lb shortstop from Jesuit HS in Madeville, Louisiana. He had a slight hamstring injury at the National Showcase and it affected him a bit, but we've seen him numerous times in the past and have a very good feel for him. Adams has a strong, well developed build for a middle infielder, which gives him very good offensive potential for his defensive position. He has a short, compact swing with very good bat speed. Adams has pop to all fields and is going to hit some home runs, especially if he swings metal. Adams usually is a 6.7 type 60 runner who is an agile athlete with first step quickness. He threw 85 mph during infield drills and we've seen him at 90+ on the mound, so arm strength is a big plus. Adams has polished defensive actions defensively and a very quick and sure release. He's the type who should have immediate success at the next level, whether that be in college or professional ball. Highest level prospect.

Ryan Adams is a 2006 SS from Mandeville, LA, with a strong and athletic 6'0", 180 lb. frame. Adams is one of the top juniors in the country. He has great actions at shortstop with a strong arm (87IF) and quick feet. Adams gets himself in position well and shows solid range to both sides. He has a good approach at the plate with quiet hands and a very quick bat. Adams is a very advanced hitter that makes consistently solid line drive contact with power potential. Adams also pitched 1 inning topping out at 90 mph with good arm speed. His fastball had a great deal of run, and he was hard to hit. With his advanced approach to hitting, great defensive actions, and foot speed (6.70-60), Adams is up with the best 2006 shortstops in the country and has a great future.

Ryan Adams -- Adams is a sophomore middle infielder from Louisiana with the potential to become one of the premier prospects in his class. He has a good medium build with solid shoulder strength and obvious athletic ability and body life. Adams hits out of a balanced stance with an excellent load and generates very good torque from his hips and lower body. He has a very quick, sweet swing and the ball jumps with some power. Adams hit the ball hard virtually every swing during batting practice and in games and even looked good the few times he didn’t. This kid is going to hit. Adams is a solid above average big league runner right now and runs the bases aggressively and with purpose. Defensively, his hands and feet work plenty well to play shortstop at the higher levels and arm strength isn’t a question. After throwing only 80 mph across the diamond in infield, Adams showed his true arm strength with an exclamation point in a 1 inning trip to the mound. His fastball topped out at 89 mph and he was in complete control of the strike zone. Overall, this is a young athlete whose ability and approach to the game is excellent. As one of our scouts said in his report, he just sticks out among everyone else on the field. Ryan is a good student.
