Ryan is a 2005 grad from Etiwanda High School in Alta Loma California with a very good athletic catcher's body. He is present strong with plenty of room to add strength and size. Ryan had very good pop times down to 1.88 and showed the arm strength to go along with it. He has a crisp short release to second with good accuracy on his throws. Ryan's athletic ability and overall quickness are a good indcator that he's going to improve his overall skills. Ryan showed good bat speed, hit the ball well to all fields and will do it with more authority as he adds strength . He has the chance to be a power hitting catcher with above average MLB defensive ability. Ryan is a very good student who has committed to UCLA. He will interest many if not most of the professional teams before the draft as well.

Ryan Babineau is one of the most physically projectable catchers in the country. At 6'2/190 he’s quick and agile. He shows MLB arm strength and made a couple of game throws in the mid 1.90’s and had no trouble handling 90+ mph heat behind the plate. He's very athletic and ran a 7.02 60. He also showed well with the bat. A front foot hitter he made good solid contact off some 90+ pitches. Outstanding athletic catcher who shows a promising bat. Ryan is also a top level student.
