Clayton Gelfand is a 2013 MIF/RHP with a 5-7 140 lb. frame from West Linn, OR who attends West Linn. Gelfand is an athletic young player with a compact frame who showed well and battled throughout the weekend despite an illness. He is raw as an infielder but has tools to continue to develop as a defender, he has good hands, and gets his body in proper fielding position, circles the ball, good hips. Also shows some offensive tools as a switch hitter, left side is developing and is more polished as a right handed hitter at present. Loads hands back and has a good path through the zone, makes good contact to all fields. On the mound he uses a 3/4 release with a simple repeatable delivery, will be an interesting follow as he continues to develop. Good student.
