Jake Stolley is a 2012 LHP with a 6-5 195 lb. frame from Marion, IA who attends Linn Mar HS. Long arm, low waisted build, lots of room to get stronger. Slow paced delivery with pause at the top, tends to drift out and lose height prior to release, loose easy arm action. Low 80's fastball topped at 84 mph, mostly straight with occasional arm side run. Short soft slider with enough depth to get off the barrel, shows a feel for a change up and is around the plate with all three pitches. Improving height and maintaining leverage on release an important next step. Young build and should continue to add strength and velocity and might be a late bloomer, velocity up 3 mph since last fall. Exceptional student.
