Ryan O'Sullivan is a 2008 RHP/SS with a 6'1'', 180 lb. frame from El Cajon, CA who attends Valhalla HS. He has an athletic, angular build with broad shoulders and some present strength. O'Sullivan is one of the top 2-way prospects in the country and was named an Aflac All-American. On the mound, he has a big leg kick to start his delivery and a busy, complicated delivery that he is athletic enough to repeat. O'Sullivan has a long, fast arm action with plenty of extension. He gets very good running and sinking action on a fastball that was consistently in the 89-91 mph range. He threw a slurve type slider at 77 mph with good depth and had a nice change up at 80 mph with some sink as well. He looks like a ground ball machine who doesn't have a plus pitch but who pitches low with life. As a position player, O'Sullivan projects at third base. He has a very good arm and can run and field on the move with plus body control. He lacks the range to stay at shortstop down the road. At the plate, O'Sullivan has a loose, easy swing with length and extension for future power. The ball comes off his bat hard and he has easy bat speed. Like many young hitters, O'Sullivan will have to keep working on the timing of his swing. He's a top athlete who could end up at the highest levels on either side of the ball. Selected to 2007 Aflac All-American team.

Ryan O'Sullivan is a 2008 RHP/SS with a 6'1'', 180 lb. frame from El Cajon, CA, who attends Valhalla HS. Named to the Top Prospect team. O'Sullivan is a lean and athletic two-way player with a good frame. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a very loose and fast arm. He has smooth mechanics, and stays balanced over the rubber despite having a high leg kick. O'Sullivan has present velocity, but with his arm speed and body type, he will throw harder in the future. Also mixes in a 12/6 CB in the mid-70s with depth and tight spin. Shows good command of all his pitches, and has great upside on the mound. Defensively he has advanced actions with nice footwork and soft hands. He gets in great position with body control showing range and balance. His throws are very accurate from all fielding positions. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with bat speed through the zone. Ryan gets leverage at the point of contact and can drive the ball to all fields. He can be a middle of the order run producer. O'Sullivan can do it all.

Ryan O'Sullivan is a 2008 RHP/SS with a 6'1'', 180 lb. frame from El Cajon CA, who attends Valhalla HS. He was selected as a Top 10 Prospect at this event and is one of the top '08 prospects in the nation. The younger brother of Angels prospect RHP Sean O'Sullivan, Ryan has made a name for himself, and like his older brother, is a two-way prospect, with outstanding abilities on the mound and at the plate. Presently O'Sullivan is slightly more advanced as a pitcher. He has a quick, loose, clean arm and good command of three pitches, along with good mound presence and pitchability. His fastball sits in the 88-90 mph range and has sinking action that comes from his 3/4 slot. His curveball has late action and is usable as an out-pitch or a great cross count pitch. Though he slows his arm a bit, O'Sullivan's change-up is also a nice looking pitch. Offensively he looks to have more upside than he does on the mound. O'Sullivan drives the ball from gap to gap and has excellent hands that extend through the ball past contact. He transfer his weight well and has good timing, started by getting his foot down early. Look for his power to start steadily coming on in the coming years and to keep on developing. O'Sullivan looks very comfortable whether on the mound or at the plate and does not seem to force things, instead he lets the game come to him, allowing his natural ability to take over without trying to do too much.

Ryan O'Sullivan is a 2008 SS/P with a 6'1'', 170 lb. frame from El Cajon CA, who attends Valhalla HS. Selected as a Top Prospect at this event. He is strong and athletic, with a broad upper body (wide shoulders) that should continue to fill out. O'Sullivan was the top underclassmen that attended this event and is one of the top '08 prospects in Southern CA. He is a prospect as both a position player and as a pitcher, and each independent of the other. At the plate he has an advanced approach to hitting, physically speaking. O'Sullivan has plus bat speed and drives the ball consistently from gap to gap, with power. He keeps his hands inside the ball and maintains excellent balance throughout his swing. His weight transfer is excellent and helps him to generate more power than his body might otherwise suggest. O'Sullivan is a middle of the line-up bat and could really emerge next summer as one of the better hitters in the nation. Defensively he moves with ease and actions in the infield, takes excellent angles to the ball and even without above average footspeed, he has good range at shortop. His hands are soft and his arm is strong. On the mound he has excellent stuff and an aggressive, confident demeanor. His arm is fast and works easily, from a high 3/4 slot, with a rythmic, on-time delivery. His delivery and tempo are similar to Huston Street's. O'Sullivan's fastball topped at 90 and sat in the 88-89 mph range, with plus sink, and he showed command to both sides of the plate. His curveball has plus spin, sharp action, and late depth, making it a very usable out pitch. His command of that pitch is also good. There is little O'Sullican cannot do on the field at this point and he should be near the top of any college recruiting list, as well as on the '08 spring follow lists of pro scouts. His brother Sean O'Sullivan was a high round draft and follow signee (RHP) of the Los Angeles Angels, signed just before the '06 draft.

Ryan O'Sullivan is a 2008 right hand hitting shortstop/pitcher from Valhalla HS, residing in El Cajon, CA. Named a Top Prospect at this event. O'Sullivan has a 6'1" 170 lb. frame and an athletic, lean body type, with long arms and broad shoulders that suggest physical projectability. He is a fluid athlete who moves with ease all over the diamond and is one of the top 2-way players in the '08 class. At the plate he sets up very confidently and comfortably and has a text book swing, displaying balance throughout while staying inside the ball. His hands are excellent, as is his bat speed and swing path. O'Sullivan is a present day gap to gap line drive hitter with projectable future power and should be a mainstay in the middle of any future line-up. In the field he showed very good hands and a strong, accurate arm. His actions are smooth and efficient and he displays plus instincts. On the mound O'Sullivan is just as talented, if not more so. He has a fast arm and an easy delivery. The ball leaves his hand easily and his 88-90 mph fastball has lively sink at the plate. O'Sullivan also spins his low 70s curveball very well. With tight rotation and late action, it has a chance to develop into a plus pitch. He is aggressive and exudes confidence on the mound, as well he should. He throws quality strikes with all his offerings, each of which has above average present day movement. There are few players with his all-around skill set.
