Ryan Pineda is a 2007 MIF/OF with a 6'0'', 175 lb. frame from Las Vegas NV, who attends Bonanza. Pineda has a thin body with an athletic build. He has present lean strength with a projectable build. Defensively, Pineda has very smooth actions and has good footowork. He is very smooth to the ball and has soft hands. Pineda has good arm strength with carry on his throws. At the plate, Pineda has a good compact swing with good bat control. He is aggressive in the strike zone and maintains good poise in the batters box. Pineda has good plate discipline and hits lots of line drives. Pineda has good footspeed and it transfers well over to his defensive range and baserunning. Outstanding student.

Ryan Pineda is a 2007 right hand hitting outfielder/infielder from Bonanza HS, residing in Las Vegas, NV. He has an athletic and compact build on his 6'0" 170 lb. frame. He looks stronger than his listed weight, likely meaning that he is likely quite strong, particularly for his size. In the last couple of summers Pineda has been evaluated as both a position player and as a pitcher. At PG National he performed as a position player only. He hits from a slightly open stance and has a nice looking set-up. With an easy swing and hands that work well, Pineda should hit for pretty high average. He maintains good balance during his swing and has a quick bat. Generally he works inside the ball and is short to contact. There is very little that can go wrong with his swing, which is quite good and simple. He has a little gap power and there are a lot of doubles in his future. Pineda looks like he will be a very good two-hole type hitter, the kind of hitter that really can help make an offense go. On defense he played in the outfield, though in the past he appeared to be a pretty good middle infielder. In any case, Pineda showed off a very accurate arm, with above average arm strength. He played centerfield well, taking good angles and getting good jumps on the ball. His instincts are better than his speed, making it possible that he could play that position with below average speed. Pineda ran 4.46 home/1st and posted a 7.23 60, so clearly there are going to be those that feel he does not have the wheels to stay in centerfield. Time will tell. As for his future prospects, Pineda looks like a solid D1 player that will have to earn a professional opportunity by overachieving and outperforming more tools oriented players during his college career.

Ryan Pineda is a 2007 SS/RHP from Bonanza HS in Las Vegas, NV, with a 5'10", 150 lb. frame. Pineda was named to the Top Prospect Team at the event. Defensively he has great actions with smooth footwork and soft hands. Pineda has solid arm strength across the infield for his age, and shows very good body control on slow rollers. At the plate he hits from the right side with an open stance that he closes well at contact. Pineda has very good bat speed with a line drive swing plane. The ball jumps off his bat, and he has a nice, loose swing with adjustability with his hands and wrists. Not only does he have great tools in the field and at the plate, but he shows he is a take charge type player with leadership skills. On the mound he has a balanced delivery and stays tall over the rubber. Pineda throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with a clean arm action, and shows good control. He works the corners with his fastball, and his late breaking curveball can be a strikeout pitch. Pineda is a two-way prospect that needs to be followed. He is also an excellent student.

Ryan Pineda is a 2007 shortstop/right handed pitcher from Las Vegas, Nevada with a athletic build at 5'10", 150 pounds. He was arguably the best player at the showcase. He hits from a balanced stance with a level swing plane and a high finish. He keeps his hands in tight with a short compact swing. He has very good bat speed and control and makes solid hard contact. He hit hard line drives to all fields with good power. He centers on the ball well and hits everything hard. He had a very good looking wood bat swing. Defensively, Pineda has a nice low base with good soft hands. He has advanced fundamentals with hands out front and he was always in good position. Everything he did was fluid and effortless. He has a good arm with good accuracy and carry at 76 mph. He even went to the outfield and made some great diving catches. He pitched from a high 3/4 slot with good run on his 83 mph fastball. He has a 69 mph curveball with a big break. He will be a highest level prospect for 2007. Ryan is a very good student.
