Matt Fiedler is a 2013 SS/RHP with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Eagan, MN who attends St Paul's Academy. Medium, lean, athletic build with some room to add strength. Right-handed hitter, upright open stance, stays very compact to the baseball. Shows good bat speed, line drive swing path, well balanced and gets good extension out front. Very smooth, fluid swing, high upside hitter. Also pitches, works from a high three-quarter arm slot, gets downhill despite size. Worked at 87-89 mph, topping at 91 with good life. Mixed in a hard curveball with bite and depth at 75 mph. Showed a changeup at 80 mph. Has some effort to delivery, but has an idea how to pitch and shows upside. Very good student.
