Kevin Elder is a 2012 RHP with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from Burlington, IL who attends Burlington Central HS. Thick mature build, good strength but retains athletic looseness. Works from the stretch, quick paced leg raise delivery, rotational back turn delivery, multiple release points from high to low 3/4's.. Fastball steady 88-90 mph, mostly straight with occasional arm side run, spots side to side well. Throws two type of curveball, 73 mph and 79 mph, hard CB much better pitch with sharpness, depth and feel, drops release on CB, drops even further on change up. Plus feel for pitching and got in nice groove. Should be immediately successful at the next level. Signed with Arizona.

Works from the stretch and the far 3B side of the rubber, compact arm action, tight 3/4's release point, will drop side arm at times. Upper 80's fastball, touches 90 mph, occasional arm side run. Flashes sharp slider bite at times, good angle to right handed hitters, lets up on slider for curveball effect at times, some feel for change up. Has the pitches, needs to improve his command and consistency. Good student.
