Darius Day is a 2014 OF/LHP with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Chicago, IL who attends Simeon Career Academy. Medium athletic build, slender with wiry strength, young look, very projectable. 6.52 runner, very athletic actions in the outfield, plus arm strength, accurate throws with polished footwork, still learning routes and jumps but can outrun mistakes at present, all the defensive tools you'd want to see. Left handed hitter, balanced stance, short quick hand path to the ball, very fast hands, has surprising power for his size, will overswing at times looking to pull/lift but will learn he doesn't need to. High ceiling athlete with a very strong fundamental base. Chicago based comparisons to a young Curtis Granderson will obvious. Verbal commitment to Arizona.
