Ismael Martinez is a 2014 SS/RHP/3B with a 6-0 138 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Coral Gables HS. Martinez has a very thin and slender build that projects very well, already tall for young player. Carries himself very well on the field and has a quiet confidence about him. Good defensive infielder with clean MIF actions and his hands and feet work well. Moves well laterally with good body control and makes a quick transfer and release with accurate throws that carry across the diamond. Good looking swing and approach at the plate, patient and confident. Uses his hands well and gets nice loose extension out in front. Quick bat and makes consistent barrell contact. On the mound he works from a 3/4 arm slot and gets good late movement on his fastball. Velocity projects for him. Slow tempo to his delivery with good repeatable mechanics, curveball and changeup will be good as they continue to develop. Good student.
