John David Grider is a 2015 SS/RHP with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Sandy Springs, GA who attends North Springs. Tall, athletic, lean build with room to fill out. Good speed. Ran a 6.94 60 yard dash. Hands work well on the infield and makes accurate throws across. Solid raw arm strength. Bats right-handed, works from a wide base and stays balanced throughout. Uses an aggressive approach but recognizes pitches well. Looks to pull the ball and flashed bat speed. Also took the mound, reaches 80 mph from a three-quarter arm slot. Fastball shows good sinking action and gets good extension out front. Mixes an 11-5 curveball at 71 mph with good depth. Excellent student.
