Austin Verschoore is a 2013 OF/SS, C, RHP with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from O'Fallon, MO who attends Fort Zumwalt West. Strong lean athletic build, looks the part. Highly talented and highly versatile, Verschoore impressed with his ability to do everything on the diamond at a high level. Hit tool is his most impressive of a well rounded skill set. Smooth load, quick hands, leverage in swing, good bat speed, very solid contact. Consistently drove the ball with authority in game action, hammered a line drive that registered at 94 mph off the bat, projects for power. Best defensive position is RF where his plus arm plays well, made a great diving catch in the right center field gap to rob extra bases during game. Also showed well at shortstop with solid range. Showed good receiving skills behind the plate, frames well, strong arm behind plate. Solid on the mound as well, up to 83 with fastball with good arm side run. Runs well, good instincts on bases. High level follow. Very good student.
