Shane Masters is a 2007 RHP/2B with a 6'2'', 182 lb. frame from Sarasota FL, who attends Riverview HS. He has a good pitcher's body with some lean strength. Masters has an unusual delivery with lots of deception and he does an excellent job of hiding the ball during a short/compact arm action. Hitters swung through a lot of pitches that looked very hittable and they must not have been seeing the ball. Masters' fastball was mostly in the upper 70's and touched 82 mph. He spotted it very well around the strike zone. His breaking ball is a 66-69 mph slider that has curveball speed but a late, sharp slider break. He also has a nice change up at 70 mph. Masters has an advanced ability to pitch and has deception on his side, so he's very effective. He's a good overall athlete who ran the 60 in 7.17, showed nice arm strength from the outfield and showed some bat speed at the plate with good balance and some power potential. Masters is a good student off the field.

Shane Masters is a 2007 RHP/2B with a 6'2'', 170 lb. frame from Sarasota FL, who attends Riverview HS. He has a long lean frame that's just starting to add some strength. Masters has solid mechanics for the most part but tends to fly open early and leave his arm behind him on occasion. His release point is from over the top. Masters fastball was 73-75 mph and topped out at 76 and was fairly straight. His curveball varied between 63 and 68 mph and had downward spin from his overhand release point. He also threw a couple of 66 mph change ups and did a good job of moving the ball around and mixing his pitches once he settled down on the mound. Masters also played some infield. He's a 7.15 runner. He has a rotational swing and some late bat speed that enables him to drive the ball hard to the opposite field on occasion. Masters is also a good student.

Shane Masters is a 2007, 6'2-170 RHP from Sarasota, FL who attends Riverview HS. He has a good pitchers body with a strong arm. Masters throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with a short compact arm action. His delivery is low effort and is very repeatable. His fastball has good running action at 80 mph. His curveball at 68 mph has good depth at times with 10-4 rotation. He also shows a good feel for his change up at 68 mph. He should end up throwing quite a bit harder when he fills out. Shane's long arms and arm slot help out with some of his deception he has. He has good velocity for a young 07 player who is just now growing into his frame. Masters has a good potential and is a good follow who you should keep your eyes on.

Shane Masters is a 2007 RHP/MIF from Riverview HS in Sarasota, FL, with a 6'2", 170 lb. frame. He has a projectable body with room to add more strength. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with good arm action. He has an off-speed pitching style and tries to keep the hitters off-balance. He really didn't throw any pitch the same speed, and mixed his pitches effectively. Masters varies the speed and break on his curveball from 64-67 mph, and also mixed in a 68 mph change with some arm side fade. He has a good feel for pitching, and projects to add more velocity in the future. Offensively he is a right handed hitter who hits from a wide stance. Masters has a slight lift in his swing, but makes solid contact. Defensively he has good hands in the middle infield with solid arm strength. Masters has upside, and is a good student as well.
