Devon Fisher is a 2014 C/3B/RHP with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Portsmouth, VA who attends Western Branch HS. Very strong, mature physical build, ideal catcher's build. Top level defensive tools and skills, receives the ball comfortably, has lower half quickness, good exchange and release, elite level arm strength, throws lasers to second base, will need to cut down on tailing action at the next level. Right handed hitter, bent knee stance, good shift into contact, keeps swing short, good bat speed, tends to reach on the outside, middle of the field line drive contact, has power potential to tap into in the future. Two-way prospect as a pitcher, throws 50/50 between sidearm and standard 3/4's, stuff much better from sidearm slot. Fastball 88-91 sidearm with nasty running life, fair curveball spin with sweeping depth, very compact deceptive arm action. Velocity drops to 85-87 and straightens out from high release. Has college reliever potential on the mound. Good student, signed with Virginia.
