Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot, loose arm action, has an arm that works, works quick, online delivery, has good command of his pitches, throws his pitches to both side of the plate, has a plan on the mound, takes a short stride, throws his fastball up in the zone, stays balanced, curveball has 11-5 break to it, has a solid late break to it, throws a straight changeup at 71mph. Nick Belzer is a 2013 RHP/MIF with a 6-2 160 lb. frame from Ankeny, IA who attends Ankeny HS. Medium athletic frame, good physical projection. Slow paced leg raise delivery, over the top release, arm is loose and easy back and front. Mid 80's fastball, topped at 86 mph, mostly straight, more velocity there with additional strength. Tends to lower release point on curveball, good spin and downer bite when on top of it, shortens arm stroke on change up but some feel coming out of hand. Athletic ability shows in the infield, third base profile, clean and balanced at the ball, works through well, pretty like on his feet. Right handed hitter with tall stance, some developing bat speed. Good potential to improve on the mound.
