Austin Orvis is a 2013 1B/RHP with a 6-4 215 lb. frame from Clive, IA who attends Waukee Senior HS. Extra large frame strong build. Short arm action across the field from 1st base, quick arm, online throws, good feet around the bag. Has a square slightly closed stance at the plate, good bat speed, good short swing, gap to gap hitter with pop, line drive swing plane, good extension, good lower half. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot on the mound, online delivery, hunched back at release, short backside, throws downhill, curveball has 10-4 break to it, throws curveball for strikes. Is an outstanding student.

Austin Orvis is a 2013 RHP/1B with a 6-4 225 lb. frame from Clive, IA who attends Waukee HS. Large framed build, strong appearance. Slow paced turn and throw delivery, very compact arm action, hides ball very well from windup, different arm action entirely from stretch and shows ball. Mid 70's fastball, topped at 75 mph, mostly straight with occasional cutting action. Slider best pitch, good shape and relative velocity to fastball, rare change with limited velocity difference to fastball. Showed better arm strength throwing from first base in drills. Right handed hitter, high hands with knee dip to start swing, has raw strength and ball jumps when squared, could improve as hitter with mechanical adjustments. Good student.
