2003 Northeast Top Prospect Showcase
Gilman is an "04" RHP/IF with a very strong arm. At 6'1/187 he has a long torso but looks athletic and strong. He showed nice hands and hitting ability in Wareham. He's a high strider and he really smoked a few to the pull side. His future is on the hill where he could develop into a nice draft pick. He threw 86-88 with life. His arm works well so you would think he'll throw harder yet. His breaking ball out of a high 3/4 slot needs to gain just a little velocity. But it shows good rotation at 68-69 mph. This kid can really throw. Steven should end up at a top baseball/academic college with his ability and 4.22 GPA/1260SAT.
