Roberto Gonzalez is a 2014 OF/LHP with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Orlando, FL who attends University HS. Outstanding athletic build, looks big and stronger than listed. 6.82 runner, can really throw from the outfield, plus arm strength at 94 mph with very good carry, can improve routes and quickness to the ball. Left handed hitter, open stance and doesn't close, limited shift into contact, strength only swing, swings hard, upper cut swing plane, has bat speed and ball comes off hard, high level raw tools but will need adjustments. Also pitched, long loose arm action, easy and loose coming through, 3/4's arm slot, low effort release, can use lower half and front side better for more velocity. Fastball topped out at 90 mph, has limited pitching experience but potential mid 90's arm if he worked at it, didn't throw off-speed pitches. High ceiling athletic tools but not sure how all the parts fit together yet with skills. Verbal commitment to Central Florida.
