Theodore Trae Sweeting is a 2013 C/2B with a 5-9 180 lb. frame from Nassau, BS who attends Christ School. Lean compact athletic build. Sweeting is rare in that he's a good defensive catcher who runs really well. You don't come across too many players who can run a 6.60 60 yard dash and post a 1.91 pop time. His good athleticism allowed him to get rid of the ball quickly on throwdowns to 2B, with a quick transfer, good footwork and solid carry on his throws. Also showed good in-game receiving skills with above average arm strength. Good contact skills at the plate with a low effort swing, good balance and use of lower half, compact swing path. Hits from a still start, causing defensive swings, could learn to drive the ball but a contact hitter at present due to approach. Interesting player who likely would also make a good CF or 2B.
