2013 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Chad Thomas is a 2014 SS/IF with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Overland Park, KS who attends Olathe East. Thomas has a medium sized frame with a lean athletic build. He's a fast twitch athlete with good foot speed (6.89-60 yard dash) and a quick arm action with velocity up to 86 MPH. Defensively Thomas moves to the ball well and showed athletic actions when fielding. He also showed good body control on the slow roller and attacks the ball well. At the plate, Thomas has a quiet approach with a simple swing. He takes his hands to the ball well and stays short to the baseball. Thomas has good bat speed and should be a high percentage contact guy at the next level. He has present gap to gap pop and plays with a lot of hustle and energy.
