Tommy Gale is a 2007 OF/MIF from Amador Valley HS, residing in Pleasanton, CA, with a 6'0" 150 lb. frame. He has a long, wiry, and thin build that is commonly referred to as projectable. A right-handed hitter, he caught our eye early in the BP session when he one-hopped the wall with a foul ball. Gale has a deep hand set and some length in his swing, suggesting that he is looking to generate some power. He hits from a wide stance, withll a no-stride approach and does have surprising pop for such a slight build. Gale tends to get rotational in his approach and is aggressive. Gale did get the barrel to the ball, though he was better in the BP than in the games. He does have a chance to hit. On defense Gale threw with a slinging arm action and the ball came out pretty well. He made a good approach to the ball in the outfield and went to the ball well with good body control. Pitching - long and lean arm stroke, high 3/4 slot, delivery on time for most part, 76-78 mph FB, good command away, 64-65 mph slurvy-frisbee breaking ball, 67-68 mph change-up with good feel, best pitch, good down in zone, interesting due to thin and still underdeveloped body. Local college programs should follow, could make a jump in spring/summer with bat or on mound, don't be surprised, figure him out.

Tommy Gale is a 6' 160 pound 2007 outfielder, shortstop, and right handed pitcher from Pleasanton, California who attends Amador Valley High School. He has an average lean frame with a projectable athletic build and square shoulders that should be able to hold more muscle in the future. Gale shows good balance in the field with decent hands and very good mechanics. He showed good arm strength in the game as well as in the workout by throwing 78 mph from the outfield. His throws were very accurate and had good carry to them. Tommy is a pull hitter with a good approach at the plate. He starts slightly open and gathers his hands very well. He has a loose swing and the ball jumps off his bat some. He has good bat speed and has the ability to make adjustments at the plate. Gale threw from the mound as well, topping out at 79 mph with his fastball which had good life to it. He has good arm speed and late energy. He showed an even tempo throughout the entire game and showed the ability to change speeds very well.. His curveball had good depth to it at 68 mph. Tommy is a slid two way prospect.
