Trevor Hearl is a 2006 outfielder from Cape Coral, Florida, with an athletic 6'0", 178 lb. frame. Hearl was one of the best defensive outfielders at the event. He has good arm strength (81 mph) with on line throws and good carry. He also showed range and made a great diving catch in center field. Hearl also showed his advanced defensive skills when he ran back to find the outfield fence and then came in a few steps to make the catch, and he made it look easy. He also ran one of the fastest 60 times at 6.88, and he showed plus game speed. Hearl is a right handed hitter with good bat speed from a narrow stance. He squares up well on the ball, and he swings hard. Sometimes he is late with his stride and hands, but the hitting tools are there. Hearl is a great defensive player with good overall skills. He is a must follow, and is a good student.

Trevor Hearl -- Hearl is a very athletic and projectable sophomore with a wide range of tools. He’s a primary outfielder with above average big league speed already. Hearl threw very well from the outfield and showed promise on the mound, pitching at 76-79 mph for 3 innings with good mechanics and a decent 65 mph curveball. At the plate, Hearl’s swing with wood is a bit long but he generates good bat speed for his age and has nice fluidity to his swing and mechanics. He’s going to get better with more strength and repetitions. Trevor is someone to watch closely and he is a very good student as well.

Trevor is a young 06 player with some good overall ability. He ran a 7.25 in the 60yd (slow track) and he has an athletic build with a good feel for the game. He has a quick bat with a good line drive approach showing it in BP and in the games. He is a very good outfielder, but he also has some ability on the mound. His fastball was at 79 but he will throw much harder than that down the road. His arm works good and is fairly tension free. Its easy to see him adding a lot more velocity over the next few years. He could be a good 2 way college player. Definite strong follow for 2006!

OF/P who gets outstanding life on his high 70s fastball. Only an "06" he could get real good. Good loose arm action from the mound, not so good from the OF. Hits around the ball a bit. Back side hitter. Has lots of room to grow. Could be special.
