Tyler McKendree is a 2007 RHP/OF from Jacksonville, FL, with a projectable body that shows good muscle tone at 6-1, 177lbs. He pitches from a 3/4 slot with a fast arm. He has a smooth, easy arm action with little effort in his delivery. His fastball topped out at 82 mph with solid arm side run and life. McKendree throws a hard curveball at 75 mph with a 12-6 break that is very sharp at times and deceptive to hitters on both sides of the plate. Tyler aggressively attacks hitters and works in and out well. He is athletic and can field his position well. McKendree ran a 7.02 in the 60 on a very slow track. He has a good body with projectability and he is a must follow for 07. Tyler is a good student.

McKendree is a sophomore right handed pitcher from Jacksonville with a very projectable 6-1 frame. He has nice delivery mechanics for a young pitcher, with good balance and direction to the plate and a standard ¾’s release point. McKendree’s fastball was in the 79-80 mph area, topping out at 82, and he should gradually increase this over the next few years as he gains strength. He also threw a 71-73 mph slurve that had tight rotation and some bite to it. McKendree also showed some potential with the bat and could develop into a solid hitter as he gets stronger. He has nice swing fundamentals and some bat head skills. Our coaches were also glowing in their praise of this young man’s desire to learn more about the game and improve his skills. He wants to get better and our opinion is that he will. McKendree is a young prospect to keep a close eye on.
